Work for the Unemployed and Able-Bodied

I doubt I'm the only one who has observed that there are a great number of people who are unemployed but who are physically and mentally able to work.  Perhaps they are unskilled, inexperienced or lack confidence. Perhaps they are lazy or lack problem-solving skills. Maybe it's a worse-case scenario, and they like drawing unemployment or basking in the generous care of someone who supports them. Whatever the reason, let's not have anyone say, "I can't think of anything to do to earn money."

I have composed a list of possible jobs. Some of the jobs may require learning, certification or bonding. But, all of the jobs are do-able, and I guarantee there is a demand out there for people to perform these jobs. I find it fairly difficult to find people who are handy at many of these jobs, and I would gladly pay for some of this help! How about you?

"Dara's List of Possible Jobs for Unemployed and Able-Bodied People"

So, here's what you do. Look over the two- page list and mark the jobs you feel you would enjoy and/or can do better than most people. I will soon post another list that should also be helpful, "Dara's List of  How to Pick the Best Job for You and Market Yourself".

Sending wishes for inspiration,
Dara

This child doesn't have to try at all to be cute. It just comes naturally. He loves to play outside, ride tractors (priority!), and run hard.

He may have been a little surprised when this didn't turn out like expected.

Get ready for some sweetness. It may be too much to take.

Being 43 is the best, man.

If anyone were reading the blog title, and I know no one is. But, in the event anyone read that blog title, they would immediately think I was referring to myself, the blogger. Oh, how I would love to be 43, but it is not so!

But, here's the good news.....I remember what being 43 was like. I could still see without glasses most of the time. My knees worked just fine. My boobs were, uh, structurally better.

However, when I was 43 I had not yet met my wonderful husband. At 43 I was working in a stressful job and should have killed some people. I would probably be out of prison by now. Back then I didn't have one single grandchild, and now I have two. I can have my boobs and knees fixed, and reading glasses are cheap, so I'm good.

So, "Happy Birthday" to my beautiful, smart, talented daughter who is 43 today. It should be me, but, if I have to give up 43 to anyone it would be you, Jilly Pooh.

Work like a 2 year old!

I'm just a teeny tiny bit ticked off today because I've seen so many people either doing nothing but "hangin' out" or having a bad attitude.  If everybody who is physically and mentally able would take work as seriously as my tiny, precious grandson, this country would be much better off. He even works for free because he enjoys it so much. I'm not saying that grown-ups should work for free. Just work at something. Look how industrious he is. And, he's nice and very smart. Employers are calling. Be like him. Now I'm going to bed and get some rest. Night night.

Blogger

I've spent way too much time analyzing about blogging....which platform to use? Who is the best for web hosting? I don't want to learn HTML! What the heck is CSS?

When all this time I should have simply started blogging on Blogger. It's just me anyway, so, if I mess up no one will have to know. Wordpress is for bloggers who have a) waaaay more technical skills or b) don't mind reading 4,000 pages of forum posts for help. Can't do it!

Off and running

Since this is my first experimental post I'll explain why the goofy blog name, "It's Dara, like Tara". Or do you get it already? If not, here goes....
Hardly anyone, meeting me for the first time, pronounces my name correctly. And, sometimes even people who "know" me (yeah, right?) don't pronounce it correctly. I've been called Dora, Dahrah, and DAra.
I've been Dara many, many (ouch!) years now, so I'm just gonna shout it out to the world of probably two people who will ever read my blog........"It's Dara, like Tara".....ok? Thanks so much for tuning in to my first broadcast.
"For goodness sakes....It's Dara, like Tara!"
